 March 1, 2017 - Arthritis Foundation Walk With Ease
Description: The AF Walk With Ease program information and strategies are based on research and tested programs in exercise science, behavior change, and arthritis management. Groups meet 3 times per week for 6 weeks. Each session lasts about 1 hour. Each session begins with a brief discussion of a topic important to walking or arthritis management. After the discussion, the group will warm up, stretch, walk, cool down and stretch one last time. Walking with a group is fun, and groups often spend additional time socializing.

Description: A program to help divorcing parents instill resilience in their children. In short, the objective of this program is to take the focus off of "divorce" and place it squarely on parenting that produces resilience in children. Must pre-register for this class.

 March 1, 2017 - Healthy Cooking with Diabetes
Description: Healthy Cooking with Diabetes is a 3 week course helping people manage their Type II diabetes through diet and healthy cooking. Each week will cover ways to better manage your diabetes and also demonstrate diabetic friendly recipes and cooking techniques that can help you be more successful in managing blood glucose and A1C levels. This class is intended for anyone diagnosed with Type II, wanting to prevent diabetes, or for caretakers of Type II diabetics. Taught by FCS Educator and Registered Dietitian Amanda Ford.  March 1, 2017 - Tai Chi
Description: Commonly called Tai Chi or Taiji, is an exercise that employs slow intentional movements, breathing techniques, and a rich array of cognitive tools (e.g. focused body awareness, imagery) to strengthen, relax and integrate the body and mind. Tai Chi is practiced for health, personal development and self-defense. The class introduces students to the fundamental principles of Tai Chi, including relaxed and mindful movement, proper structural alignment, and breath awareness. Students learn a foundational set of qigong (chi kung) exercises as well as the core movements from the Tai Chi short form. Students will also learn advanced principles.

Description: Healthy Cooking with Diabetes is a 3 week course helping people manage their Type II diabetes through diet and healthy cooking. Each week will cover ways to better manage your diabetes and also demonstrate diabetic friendly recipes and cooking techniques that can help you be more successful in managing blood glucose and A1C levels. This class is intended for anyone diagnosed with Type II, wanting to prevent diabetes, or for caretakers of Type II diabetics. Taught by FCS Educator and Registered Dietitian Amanda Ford. Description: Commonly called Tai Chi or Taiji, is an exercise that employs slow intentional movements, breathing techniques, and a rich array of cognitive tools (e.g. focused body awareness, imagery) to strengthen, relax and integrate the body and mind. Tai Chi is practiced for health, personal development and self-defense. The class introduces students to the fundamental principles of Tai Chi, including relaxed and mindful movement, proper structural alignment, and breath awareness. Students learn a foundational set of qigong (chi kung) exercises as well as the core movements from the Tai Chi short form. Students will also learn advanced principles.

Description: Healthy Cooking with Diabetes is a 3 week course helping people manage their Type II diabetes through diet and healthy cooking. Each week will cover ways to better manage your diabetes and also demonstrate diabetic friendly recipes and cooking techniques that can help you be more successful in managing blood glucose and A1C levels. Description: Commonly called Tai Chi or Taiji, is an exercise that employs slow intentional movements, breathing techniques, and a rich array of cognitive tools (e.g. focused body awareness, imagery) to strengthen, relax and integrate the body and mind. Tai Chi is practiced for health, personal development and self-defense. The class introduces students to the fundamental principles of Tai Chi, including relaxed and mindful movement, proper structural alignment, and breath awareness. Students learn a foundational set of qigong (chi kung) exercises as well as the core movements from the Tai Chi short form. Students will also learn advanced principles.

Description: Parents who are, or soon will be “ex-spouses” must still work together to benefit their child. The title “Co-parenting for Resilience” refers to strategies divorcing parents can use to work together to help their children be “resilient,” or to bounce back from the effects of a divorce and return to a normal life. Additionally, some people may be asked to take this class for issues related to custody, paternity, legal separation, contempt, stepfamily break up, etc. Because the goals of Co-Parenting for Resilience class focus on helping the children, it addresses these situations as well. The Co-parenting for Resilience program uses a combination of lecture, discussion, video, exercises, and example/role-playing to help parents discover new ways to help their children adjust to the divorce. Cost is $35.00 due upon registration. Registration is due the Friday before class.

Description: Commonly called Tai Chi or Taiji, is an exercise that employs slow intentional movements, breathing techniques, and a rich array of cognitive tools (e.g. focused body awareness, imagery) to strengthen, relax and integrate the body and mind. Tai Chi is practiced for health, personal development and self-defense. The class introduces students to the fundamental principles of Tai Chi, including relaxed and mindful movement, proper structural alignment, and breath awareness. Students learn a foundational set of qigong (chi kung) exercises as well as the core movements from the Tai Chi short form. Students will also learn advanced principles.
