But in today’s society where children seem to become adults overnight, and where they often make decisions about drugs, sexuality, and violence before they understand the consequences, a parent’s job is more important than ever. So how can you ensure that your teens develop the skills and character they need to not only survive but to thrive as they gain independence? You can create harmony and stability in your family while raising your teens to be responsible, courageous and prepared for independent life. Active Parenting of Teens, a video and discussion program by parenting expert Dr. Michael Popkin, will show you how.  March 1, 2017 - Arthritis Foundation Walk With Ease
Description: The AF Walk With Ease program information and strategies are based on research and tested programs in exercise science, behavior change, and arthritis management. Groups meet 3 times per week for 6 weeks. Each session lasts about 1 hour. Each session begins with a brief discussion of a topic important to walking or arthritis management. After the discussion, the group will warm up, stretch, walk, cool down and stretch one last time. Walking with a group is fun, and groups often spend additional time socializing.

Description: A program to help divorcing parents instill resilience in their children. In short, the objective of this program is to take the focus off of "divorce" and place it squarely on parenting that produces resilience in children. Must pre-register for this class.

 March 1, 2017 - Healthy Cooking with Diabetes
Description: Healthy Cooking with Diabetes is a 3 week course helping people manage their Type II diabetes through diet and healthy cooking. Each week will cover ways to better manage your diabetes and also demonstrate diabetic friendly recipes and cooking techniques that can help you be more successful in managing blood glucose and A1C levels. This class is intended for anyone diagnosed with Type II, wanting to prevent diabetes, or for caretakers of Type II diabetics. Taught by FCS Educator and Registered Dietitian Amanda Ford.  March 1, 2017 - Tai Chi
Description: Commonly called Tai Chi or Taiji, is an exercise that employs slow intentional movements, breathing techniques, and a rich array of cognitive tools (e.g. focused body awareness, imagery) to strengthen, relax and integrate the body and mind. Tai Chi is practiced for health, personal development and self-defense. The class introduces students to the fundamental principles of Tai Chi, including relaxed and mindful movement, proper structural alignment, and breath awareness. Students learn a foundational set of qigong (chi kung) exercises as well as the core movements from the Tai Chi short form. Students will also learn advanced principles.
