Description: The Master Wellness Volunteer training program is an engaging series of five classes that provides volunteers with 40 hours of training in health and wellness education. In return, the volunteers agree to give back 40 hours of service to the community as an OSU Extension Master Wellness Volunteer. Must be pre-registered and approved to attend.

 March 14, 2017 - Master Wellness Volunteer Program
Description: The object is to train individuals who are interested in health and wellness with current research based information. These volunteers will assist the Family and Consumer Sciences program at the Tulsa County OSU Extension Center. The program is designed for individuals with at least a high school degree or equivalent, with a true interest in health and wellness, and would enjoy volunteering and sharing research-based information with others.TRAINING WILL BE HELD: Oklahoma Co.  March 14, 2017 - Arthritis Foundation Walk With Ease
Description: The AF Walk With Ease program information and strategies are based on research and tested programs in exercise science, behavior change, and arthritis management. Groups meet 3 times per week for 6 weeks. Each session lasts about 1 hour. Each session begins with a brief discussion of a topic important to walking or arthritis management. After the discussion, the group will warm up, stretch, walk, cool down and stretch one last time. Walking with a group is fun, and groups often spend additional time socializing.

 March 14, 2017 - Tai chi: Moving for Better Balance
Description: This program is designed to improve older adults' balance, reduce their chances of falling, and help them improve and maintain their mobility, functional independence, and quality of life well into their later years. This is one class in a series of 24. The class lasts for 12 weeks with two classes each week. Please call our office to register for this free class.

 March 14, 2017 - Spring Break Sewing Workshop
Description: Attend this two-day sewing camp for youth ages 9-18 years and complete a design & construction project. Participants will learn parts of sewing machine, how to read a pattern envelope, cut out a garment/project, and master simple sewing techniques. The Spring Break Sewing Workshop is March 14 -15 from 1:00 - 5:00 pm.

 March 14, 2017 - Tai chi: Moving for Better Balnace
Description: This is a group fall prevention program that uses a unique combination of eight single forms that are derived from the traditional 24 form Yang-style Tai chi. All forms are arranged in a sequence that progresses from easy to more difficult and can be practiced separately or together.

Description: Learn the basics of pie making in this fun, hands-on workshop! While the class itself is free, there is a $0 fee to cover supplies for the day. Every participant will leave this day with a pie made by his or her own hands! Space is limited-the first ten who pay their registration fee will be guaranteed a spot. Description: OHCE members meet to make pillowcases that will be given to children in the hospital, patients in generations at the hospital, shut-ins, foster children and others that members feel will benefit from a colorful pillowcase.
