Description: Nutrition education and food demonstrations held at the Community Market of Pottawatomie County. Nutrition topics vary by month. Each class will cover a nutrition topic, food safety, cooking technique and recipes. $10.00 donation at the door to cover food cost and support the Food Resource Center. RSVP to the Extension Office by 12:00 the day before scheduled class.

 April 6, 2017 - Co-Parenting for Resilience
Description: Divorcing and separating couples will benefit by learning techniques to transition into their new "co-parenting" lifestyle and by learning effective strategies to promote their children’s healthy adjustment to their parent’s separation. This class also satisfies the court mandated requirement for divorcing/separating couples and those seeking custody, visitation or paternity of minor children in Oklahoma. Cost is $35. All registrations must be paid and turned in to the Extension office at least 3 business days prior to the class.

 April 6, 2017 - Ag in the Classroom
Description: Ag in the Classroom lesson is taught for children ages 5 to 8 featuring a Oklahoma grown food. Lessons teach youth about agriculture, gardening, nutrition. Child learn food preparation skills by making a healthy snack. This program is provided for the Library Afterschool Reading Program. Pre-registration is required by call the library at 924-3486.  April 6, 2017 - Tai chi: Moving for Better Balnace
Description: This is a group fall prevention program that uses a unique combination of eight single forms that are derived from the traditional 24 form Yang-style Tai chi. All forms are arranged in a sequence that progresses from easy to more difficult and can be practiced separately or together.

 April 6, 2017 - Tai Chi
Description: Commonly called Tai Chi or Taiji, is an exercise that employs slow intentional movements, breathing techniques, and a rich array of cognitive tools (e.g. focused body awareness, imagery) to strengthen, relax and integrate the body and mind. Tai Chi is practiced for health, personal development and self-defense. The class introduces students to the fundamental principles of Tai Chi, including relaxed and mindful movement, proper structural alignment, and breath awareness. Students learn a foundational set of qigong (chi kung) exercises as well as the core movements from the Tai Chi short form. Students will also learn advanced principles.
