Profile of Expertise:
Debbie Walters received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Vocational Home
Economics at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas and her Master of
Science Degree in Educational Competencies at the University of Central
Oklahoma.Debbie was employed at
Kiamichi Technology Center for twelve years where she served as a
childcare instructor teaching child safety, child nutrition, child
development and developmentally appropriate curriculum. She also
served as the Program Coordinator for the on-site Child Development
Center.
Debbie was also the career transition
specialist for Kiamichi Technology Center at the McAlester, Atoka and
Poteau campuses for three years. During this time, she assisted high
school students in job preparation and job placement.
The past several years, she has worked part
time for the Council of Early Childhood Recognition from Washington, D.C.
as a child development associate representative. This position
required her to assess and evaluate a C.D.A. candidate's required
documentation and conduct final interviews.
Debbie's goals have been to teach and
assist others in achieving their goals in life and in their career.
She enjoys working with her team of NEAs to provide research based
nutritional information to the communities in Southeast Oklahoma. If
