Tuesday, March 22:  I will be at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN this week for consultation regarding management of my cancer and surgery.  Look forward to a presentation from Melissa Adair.  Take notes and be sure to ask questions.

  • Be sure to email me with questions about your assignment due on Thursday. I will email you all Frequently asked questions as I get them.
  • FAQs received thus far:
  • Should we plan our presentation and lesson plan for only 12 minutes?  Ideally, yes.  However, if you have a topic which would require more time, only present one or two concepts as opposed to the entire lesson plan.
  • Will we be presenting the lesson plan at the end of the semester as what we would plan to do or are we pretending the class audience is our actual target audience?  The class is your target audience and they will be whatever age group you ask them to be.  If you have designed a lesson on the FGP for 3rd graders, the class will be 3rd graders and you will teach us about the FGP.

Thursday, March 24:  Turn in your lesson plan at the beginning of the class period.  Dr. Renee Daugherty will be presenting today.  Take notes, participate and ask questions.

Tuesday, March 29: Trish Gedon will teach us how to write news releases.  Be sure to listen and ask questions.  You will be asked to write a news release on the take home final exam.

Thursday, March 31: I will go over the evaluation of written materials assignment.  The new due date for this assignment is April 21.  I will also answer any questions you have about the upcoming lesson plan presentation.

Tuesday, April 5: Dr. Briley will present Communicating Nutrition to Diverse Audiences.  Take notes and be prepared to ask questions.  I will ask you questions on the final exam about this presentation.

Thursday, April 7: No class today.  This will be a workday for you.  Your assignment is to work on your lesson plan presentation and upcoming assignment.

Tuesday, April 12-May 3:  Come to class and view your peers' presentations.  You will be required to evaluate your peers' lesson plans, so it is imperative that you come to class unless you have a legitimate reason to miss class.

I will post your final exam by Thursday, April 21 in the assignment section of our website.   Final Exam is due in class on May 3.  Turn it in at the beginning of the class.  No late final exams will be accepted.
