Dear Extension Educators:

The Listening Sessions planned for each county will be a rich source of information as we begin the process of “needs identification” in preparation for the next four-year Plan of Work.

Focus Forums to be held next winter and spring will help to crystallize the issues we will focus on for our next Impact Programs. Our Impact Program design teams will be formed in 2003, since the next four-year Plan of Work will start with the 2004-2005 fiscal year.

In order for the listening sessions to provide us with the breadth of input needed, it will be vital that each of you make personal contacts with a diverse group of individuals and organizations, encouraging their participation.

I especially encourage you to make every effort to see that under represented groups and minorities have representation at the Listening Sessions. Remember that youth and youth serving organizations are also important to the validity of the information from the Listening Sessions. Broadly marketing these Listening Sessions and making personal contacts with leaders of various organizational and ethnic groups will be the key to our success.

Sincerely,

Lynda Harriman, Asst. Director/Associate Dean
