National Network for Child Care:

·         INFORMATION - an internet source of over 1000 publications and resources related to child care. Publications are research-based and reviewed.

·         KIDCARE - an e-mail listserve - providing a way to communicate nationally and internationally with others who care about children and child care.

·         PERSON-TO-PERSON - support and assistance from experts in child care and child development. Extension staff at each state's land grant university who are working in the area of children and youth are identified.

·         CONNECTIONS NEWSLETTERS - issued four times a year for family child care, center-based care, and school-age child care.

Grandparent's Guide to Child Care Programs Available from CDF.  The Children's Defense Fund has a new resource for relative caregivers:  "The Grandparent's and Other Relative Caregiver's Guide to Child Care and Early Education Programs: What You Need to Know to Give the Child You are Raising a Head Start."  The guide explains the basics about child care and early education programs, including how to choose the right program, how to get help paying for child care, and special issues for relative caregivers.  For a copy of the guide, please call Michelle Shin at 202-662-3544.
