A series of education products to help
military families have been produced through a partnership between
the Department of Defense (DOD) and the Cooperative Extension
Research, Education, and Extension Service at USDA. Managed by
Virginia Tech, land-grant faculty members at Auburn, Cornell,
University of Missouri, and Lincoln University were awarded
contracts to develop the educational materials. They were designed
with input from all branches of the military and are appropriate for
a wide range of audiences. Materials address parenting in the
context of deployment, relocation, and dangerous work as well as
general parenting information, special pieces for enhancing
parent-teen relationships and to help children and youth, and
information about the link between force and mission readiness and
family readiness. Materials are available in a variety of formats
and can be accessed at the Military Resource Center website
