Produced by the Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy, this is a
rich source of data on the status of Oklahoma's children and youth
that can be used for public policy, reports, presentations,
community and program planning, grant applications, etc. It
includes aggregate as well as county specific data. This edition has
a different focus and format than past Factbooks. Instead of
measuring a set of benchmarks, it uses the latest Census 2000 data
to provide the most comprehensive state and county demographic
information available. Highlighted are population, race/ethnicity
and a wide range of conditions that shape the lives of children as
individuals, in their families, and in their communities including
income and poverty, family composition, and education.
The
document and those from past years are available at
www.oica.org or at
http://www.odl.state.ok.us/kids/factbook/. Copies are also
available for purchase ($8 if you pick up at their OKC office, $13
if mailed, or discounted to $5 for bulk orders of 20 or more). Call
405-236-5437 or e-mail bcornish@oica.org for further information. |
